Something that no one has mentioned is modifying the angle of the screen and spacing the screen out a little to allow a little airflow behind it. I have the adjustable windscreen mounts and I think the 1/4" spacing, plus the height adjustment help with smoothing out the air while keeping the stock screen. On my old V-Strom, I ended up with a GIVI screen that I had put 3/8" spacers, just at the bottom mounts, to get the airflow to my liking.
I agree. I did the same w/ the stock windshield and the height adjusters. For me at 5'10", no buffeting and clean air. Well worth the cost.

hi again guys.

i currently have the wrs CAPONORD with which i did 3500km from spain to greece, all good
i am 185cm or 6'1''

im sure i can get one on AliExpress for 15euros but i was wondering your experiece

thanks

This has been my mission over the last few months. I am over 6 ft so tried the honda touring screen but found I still had too much buffeting and went back to the standard screen preferring wind rush to buffeting. I have now installed a PUIG screen and this was a little better than the honda touring screen but still not perfect; However, with the addition of a small accessory deflector I have found what I think is the perfect solution. At slow speeds (less than 40mph) I manually tilt the accessory screen flat which allows me good view of the road and good airflow keeping my helmet mist free. Above 40 I can tilt the screen vertical and have hugely reduced noise ( can hear the spoken word over my helmet speakers with alpine ear plugs being used) and negligible buffeting. Hope this helps others who are a little taller.

I'm at 7000 miles & still on my factory windscreen. I'm at about 90% street use and over 50% of that at high speed so feeling a touring windscreen might help keep some wind off me. For me, the factory one is a little loud (wind noise even though I wear earplugs) and doesn't protect much against wind buffeting on my upper helmet or upper arms & shoulders. I had very good results with a Puig aftermarket on my Kawasaki Versus, so leaning towards that, but it's not cheap so hesitated to buy until some reviews are in. At 6 foot tall I don't mind if another screen is somewhat taller, but for sure i want to look over it and not through it in a normal riding position. Does anyone have experienced comments on Puig, Givi, Honda or other touring windscreens specific to the TA? Thank you.
Hi Jim, Im 5 11' and fitted the WRS Windscreen Caponord HONDA XL 750 TRANSALP 2023-2024 Transparent (HO061T).
Here in Perth Western Australia it can get a bit warm. it was 29c today according to my car thermometer. The screen lets a bit of air around it that hits my forearms and elbow area which is usable to be honest. Buffeting is minimal at the head, I use a Schuberth C3 Pro flip lid. I can tell you its great in a major rain storm on the highway, shoved most of the heavy rain away with no issues, plus its easy to clean around the instro cluster top.

I've got the Puig touring screen on my TA, had several of theirs over the years. Well made 4mm instead of most at 3mm thick as an example.

Hi Heavy, your idea of the height adjuster bracket is a new idea to me and interesting. On the AliExpress USA sight they list it at only $11.00. I am good with some added height, but want to look over the windscreen not through it.
How much height did it add?
Thanks!

Appreciate everyones feedback here, thank you! We are all different heights, with different helmets & different expectations. Because I had good experiences with Puig tall touring windscreens on other bikes I tried one for the Transalp. It did fit well and seemed like good quality plastic, it did somewhat reduce wind pressure, but it wasn't great, in fact it kind of just traded some annoying buffeting and noise for different aerodynamics that bugged. I took great care to not scratch it and left all decals on it, so after one 30-minute ride ride I promptly returned it. I suspect the Givi might be similar. So still seeking an improvement. The Honda and WRS seem to have hope, but they are expensive so first might try Heavy's suggestion of windshield height adjuster bracket, or a cheap Amazon add on deflector that attaches to top of factory windscreen. Anybody else have experience with those? Thanks

You can see, in the pictures, that the total adjustment can be a few inches. Mine is raised about 1-1/4" and I look over it. That's with a low seat and I'm 5'10", with a 30" inseam. As I said ... it's a pretty cheap experiment.

A side benefit to the bracket is that it also sets the windshield out 1/4" and makes it easier to wash/dry the dash and backside of the screen. ;)

Initially, I ran a Puig deflector I had kicking around and it worked great. I just didn't like the add-on so I bought adjustable brackets and I'm happy with using the stock screen.

My biggest issue with the stock set up was the wind noise. I too purchased the adjustable brackets (Amazon) and the stock screen is fine raised up. I am 6‘ 2”. Wind blast hits just above my visor with a small area of slow air at the sides of my helmet. Chest area is protected with no weird vortices…good enough. It is a bike so perfect airflow is bit of a fantasy.

I purchased the brackets that raise the stock windscreen 2 inches (Amazon $25 USD). They made a small but noticeable reduction in wind noise and in wind pressure against helmet. They were well worth the small cost. Then I purchased the wind deflectors that attached to the sides of the stock windscreen (Amazon Chinese fakes but very similar to Honda brand ones $34). These also made a small but noticeable improvement in wind noise and buffeting. See attached photos. These two items together made enough improvement to be okay with it. When they are old and discolored I may try the WRS Caponord tall screen several of you recommended. Thanks.
