Hi all, got my 2024 TA a few weeks ago and really pleased with it. It came with fog lights already installed and I have just ordered some oem heated grips.
I've scanned through previous 'how to' threads and am confident fitting them. My question is, where the grips' wiring plugs into the accessory sockets each side - are there 2 sockets per side; one occupied by the fog lights plus a spare for grips? Or do I need a couple of y lead splitters?
I know I could pull off the side panels to check but as this may need crash bars removing as well, I don't really want to have to do it twice, lol.
Any help appreciated, cheers

Hi, steve -O, thanks for the reply. I have downloaded the Honda intructions and studied videos of the installation and am confident in the actual fitment. Ditto crash bars and fog light instructions. It's just not clear whether the wiring loom accessory connections on each side have just one socket, or two. The instruction sheets simply show where/how to plug in the particular accessory.
It's looking like I'll have to remove the bars and side fairing to confirm socket arrangements and discover whether I need to use a y lead or not.
Will post again when I eventually find out.
Cheers,
Gareth

Hi Heavy, thanks for your input. I believe you, honest. I was just waiting for more clarity from UK/European owners. As a newbie on here I am still finding my way on the forum and may have missed some of the replies. The Honda instruction sheets don't make it clear but I'm now reassured about the situation and I'll crack on with the installation when the new grips arrive.
Cheers from a wintery and damp uk.

Just an update, guys. Finally got around to fitting the heated grips. After watching various youtube videos and studying the instructions it all went well. Bit of a faff having to remove the tank crash bars to enable side panel removal, but straightforward enough. Found the two connectors each side and plugged in alongside the fog light plugs. Of course, lining up the bolts/holes under the headlight when refitting the bars was a pain, neaded longer/double-jointed fingers, lol.
Activated the dash menu easily enough so all works a treat. Happy days.

I am wondering if having already installed Fog lights on a European spec bike if I can use the heated grips to add an additional set of driving lights??? Anyone with knowledge of current draw and the such please let me know. The plugs are simple enough and I don't mind using the heated grips icon in the dash if it means I can switch between fog and driving lights options.

Hi all, just purchased a '24 Transalp in the Seattle area, and installing OEM heated grips. Install instructions are pretty straight forward, disconnected negative battery terminal, located the right side/left side plugs, squared away all connections including the scs short connector (not included with the grips! - really Honda). Turned ignition on, selected my way to the service/equipment/grip heater screen, and ..., unable to select anything.(The quickshifter and fog lights are displayed on this screen as well, but not selectable. Page 62 of my owner manual states "equipment is displayed but not selectable. Anybody install the oem yet? What am I missing? Some kind of dealer reset?

It is with some measure of humble pie I reply: Yes, I have "a" connector. It fits the accessory plug under the seat. I finally realized that isn't the plug being referred to and located the correct one (red plastic plug in it's own boot). Rather than jam a paper clip into the diagnostic plug, I ordered the correct plug off Amazon. Expect to complete the installation next week. Meanwhile I'll fit up the cyclops aurora dlr aux lights and get the plastics back on. Thanks again for your reply,
