"Taking into account that the smartphone would be in use for long hours to access to contents such as the GPS navigation, a USB port is provided inside the luggage space."

Can somebody confirm that? How accessible and how safe would a mobile phone be under the seat?

I believe this is the usb type C connector. Not very useful in this location. I've ordered the 12v socket for my bike. There's a dedicated space for it in the fairing next to the TFT display.

WOW! Yeah, this is a very unfortunate place to store a phone. Let’s see how I’m going to make this useful.

As mentioned earlier I've ordered the 12v socket to be fitted. It goes in place of this blanking plate. I can then plug in a usb adapter to power my phone. I like to use my phone for navigation.

Yeah, i saw that. I'm not going to let my bike destroy my camera lenses on the phone (Exposure to vibrations, like those generated by high-powered motorcycle engines, might impact iPhone cameras). I use a Beeline (Motorcycle sat nav) for navigation. No distractions, just navigation. Lever leave without it.
Yes, I would never use my smart phone for navigation has rightly said as it naffs up the camera.

I had the Garmin XT with the Touretech lockable Mount, which is going on the new transalp . I understand they have wired it in with a switchable power supply from the ignition as there is a cable to do this!

It’s easy to connect a cable to your topcase or panniers to charge camera etc.

There is even a charging connection under the seat for that.
